Why it works as a gift
Wall art is one of the more personal home-decor gifts to get wrong — it needs to fit décor and taste you may not know well, so a piece the recipient has actually shown interest in beats a safe, generic choice.
Home and decor — frames, paintings, idols — came up 544 times.
Counts are how often a category came up in 4,125 posts and 17,905 comments about corporate gifting on Reddit (May 2026) — a measure of discussion, not a rating. How we did it →
Who it's good for
Who should skip it
- Someone whose home and taste you don't know well
- Someone who avoids: decor they didn't choose
How to choose
Illustrations and photographs, printed well.
Maps, star charts, name art.
Paintings, macramé, Madhubani, Gond and Warli art.
What to check
- Only buy art you've seen them like — look at what's on their walls, or what they save and share.
- Check it arrives framed or ready to hang; an unframed print is a chore.
- For renters, choose light pieces that work with removable strips, or art that can lean on a shelf.
What each budget gets you
- ₹500–₹1,200
- An unframed or simply framed print.
- ₹1,200–₹2,500
- A framed print, custom work, or a small handmade piece.
- Madhubani, Warli and Gond artists and cooperatives sell online directly — buying from them means more of the price reaches the artist.
