₹3,273 buys a complete Indian-made Diwali puja and sweets set from four brands: a ₹425 lotus diya from Phool, a ₹1,349 brass thali from Svastika, 500 g of badam katli from Gwalia for ₹900 and a ₹599 box of nuts from Nutty Gritties. We priced each on the seller's own site on 30 September 2026.

Those four are part of a wider list. GiftScene now lists 41 Indian sellers across five Diwali gifts: diyas, pooja thalis, mithai, dry fruit boxes and handloom sarees. The oldest, Balaram Mullick, has made sweets in Kolkata since 1885. The youngest, Svastika, started in 2021.

Four Indian brands cover a family's Diwali puja and sweets for ₹3,273, and a handwoven cotton saree from Okhai adds ₹5,999.

Diyas and pooja thalis: brass lasts, clay is for one night

A diya is the most common Diwali gift and the easiest to get wrong. A clay diya is lit once and swept away. A metal lamp comes out again next year. Phool's Saroj lamp is a lotus on a blue pedestal, with room for six flames. Studio Coppre's Raindrop Brass Diya, at ₹1,000, is made from a brass sheet using a craft tradition from western India, the studio says. Svastika's Om thali pairs an 8-inch carved brass plate with a matching aarti diya, and the brand offers free shipping. We think the thali is the best value on this list: it outlasts every sweet box, gets used at every puja after Diwali, and at ₹1,349 costs less than most hampers built around one. For a boxed puja set, The Dotted i's Traditional Puja Hamper packs golden diyas with a jar of baatis ready to light, and it suits someone living away from home. More makers are on our diyas and pooja thalis pages.

Mithai and dry fruits from Indian sweet shops

Mithai is the gift everyone expects, so the maker matters.

Gwalia, an Ahmedabad sweet shop, sells badam katli in a 500 g box for ₹900, and delivers across India. Balaram Mullick in Kolkata sells a 500 g soan papri box for ₹324, and its site offers same-day delivery across Kolkata. It suits Kolkata family best.

Dry fruits keep longer than mithai. Nutty Gritties, started in 2009, sells a 230 g Diwali box of six packs for ₹599: roasted salted almonds and pistachios, pepper cashews, a Thai chilli blend, a sports mix and daily nuts. Its bigger festive boxes run to ₹6,850. See all sellers on mithai boxes and dry fruit boxes.

Handloom sarees from weavers' co-operatives

A handloom saree is the one gift here that can cost more than all the others together.

  • Okhai sells handwoven cotton sarees from rural artisan groups; the Bebaak Aalta, in deep red, costs ₹5,999.
  • Boyanika, the Odisha weavers' co-operative, was set up in 1956 under the state's Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts Department. It sells Sambalpuri, Bomkai and other Odisha weaves.

Check that a listing says handloom or handwoven, since some saree sellers also stock printed ones. Our handloom sarees page lists more weavers.
